Home Inspection Seattle
Welcome to my site! My name is Mike Veitenhans. I'm the owner and sole employee of the independent home inspection service, MV Home Inspection, LLC and I inspect homes for clients in Greater Seattle:
- Buyers who want to know the conditon of the homes they're purchasing
- Sellers who want to know what to do to get their homes ready for sale and
- Owners who simply want to know how to keep their homes in good conditon.
I'm retired from another career and that allows me a "luxury" that many other home inspectors don't have: I do only one inspection a day. What that means to you is I always have the time it takes to do a thorough inspection and answer all your questions, and I can usually better meet your scheduling needs.
My inspections typically take two to five hours, depending on the type, size, age and condition of the home. I provide a verbal summary of my findings when I complete the field work and, if you're a buyer, a written narrative report four to eight hours later. If you're a seller or homeowner, you may opt to take your own notes and forego the written report.
I've tried "instant" report-generating software but find it lacking in terms of its ability to integrate information and to make the information easily understood. So I use a report of my own design (see "Sample Reports" at the top of the page). My reports are broken down by:
- Grounds Inspection
- Roof Inspection
- Exterior Inspection
- Basic Structural Components Inspection
- Insulation/Ventilation Inspection
- Electrical Inspection
- Plumbing Inspection
- HVAC Inspection
- Appliance Inspection
- General Interior Inspection

Here are samples of the two types of written narrative reports I offer, both done for the same home so you can compare. The reports are in portable document format (PDF) and require a PDF Reader to view.
